The main steps
- Choosing a programme at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
- Getting the letter of acceptance.
- Getting a provincial or territorial attestation letter (PAL) in most cases, because Canada caps the number of study permits.
- Proving you can pay tuition and living costs.
- Applying for the study permit; you may need biometrics and a medical exam.
Studying in Quebec also requires the Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ).
