HEALTH SCIENCES

The doctorate plays a fundamental role for the intersection between the EHEA and the ERA, both fundamental pillars of the knowledge-based society. Furthermore, research is a very important part of university higher education, since the change in the productive model towards a sustainable economy places doctors as main actors in society to generate and transfer knowledge appropriately.

On the other hand, one of the great challenges of today’s society is health and well-being throughout life. To achieve this, we need to develop and maintain high-quality health and care systems that are economically sustainable and whose developments and advances are based on proven scientific evidence.

The Doctorate Program in Health Sciences has a multidisciplinary character, integrating Pharmacology and Human Nutrition with Food Science and Technology and Medicine, with the fundamental objective of training scientists who generate results of direct application in society, with in order to produce advances in the area of food and health, thus improving the quality of life of the population.
